The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will close the registration window for Probationary Officer (PO) and Specialist Officer (SO) recruitment 2026 tomorrow, July 26, 2026. For Probationary Officer (PO) posts, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. Applicants should have a valid mark sheet or degree certificate at the time of online registration and must mention their graduation marks while filling out the application form.For Specialist Officer (SO) posts, the educational qualification depends on the post applied for. IBPS PO, SO recruitment 2026: Selection process
The selection process for Probationary Officer (PO) recruitment includes a preliminary examination, main examination, and personality test.The preliminary examination will have 100 questions carrying 100 marks and will be conducted for 60 minutes. The main examination will consist of 170 questions for 200 marks with a duration of 160 minutes.There will be negative marking in the objective tests. One-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every incorrect answer, while no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.For Specialist Officer (SO) recruitment, candidates will have to appear for an online preliminary examination, online main examination, and interview. Those who qualify in the preliminary examination will be shortlisted for the main examination. The final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the main examination and interview.
