The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Class 12 supplementary examination 2026 tomorrow, July 28, at examination centres across the country. The exam gives students who were placed in the compartment category another chance to clear the subjects they could not pass in the regular board examinations.This year, around 1.63 lakh students were placed in the compartment category after the CBSE Class 12 board examinations, which were held from February 17 to April 10, 2026.Candidates appearing for the supplementary examination must carry their admit card, a valid photo identity card, and the required stationery to the examination centre. They should also reach the venue on time and carefully follow all instructions issued by the board.

CBSE Class 12 supplementary exam 2026 timings

The examination for major subjects, including English Core, Hindi Core, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Political Science, Geography, Psychology, Sociology, Computer Science, History, Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, Home Science, Applied Mathematics, and several language papers, will be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.For vocational subjects such as Food Production, Front Office Operations, Banking, Marketing, Health Care, Insurance, Fashion Studies, Business Administration, and others, the examination will begin at 10:50 am and end at 1:30 pm.

CBSE Class 12 supplementary exam 2026: Important guidelines

Candidates should keep the following instructions in mind before appearing for the examination:

  • Do not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, or any other electronic communication devices inside the examination centre.
  • Possession or use of banned electronic devices may lead to action under the Unfair Means (UFM) rules.
  • Maintain discipline and follow all instructions given by the invigilators.
  • Check the duration of your examination carefully on the official datesheet and your admit card.
  • Students will be given an additional 15 minutes before the examination begins to read the question paper.
