The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will begin the registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 tomorrow, August 3, at 10 am. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official website until October 31. According to the schedule, the CLAT 2027 examination will be conducted on December 6 from 2 pm to 4 pm at test centres across the country. The consortium has also confirmed that there will be no changes in the CLAT 2027 syllabus or exam pattern.
CLAT 2027 exam pattern
CLAT 2027 will be conducted in offline mode. The question paper will include 120 comprehension-based multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The questions will be divided into the following five sections:
- English Language
- Current Affairs, including General Knowledge
- Legal Reasoning
- Logical Reasoning
- Quantitative Techniques
The consortium has said that the exam convenor and paper setters will consider the recommendations made in the Expert Committee Report 2026 wherever possible.
Expert committee invites feedback
An expert committee has been formed to review different aspects of the CLAT examination, including question quality, paper structure and syllabus. Students, teachers, experts and members of the public can submit their suggestions through the online feedback form by August 31.
How to apply for CLAT 2027
Candidates can complete the application process by following these steps:
- Visit the official CLAT website.
- Click on the CLAT 2027 login link.
- Select the ‘New Registration’ option.
- Enter your mobile number, email address and create a password.
- Verify your account using the One Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.
- Fill in the application form and choose your preferred test centres.
- Upload the required documents and pay the application fee.
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.

About CLAT 2027
