DASA, CSAB Special Counselling 2026 registration begins; Fee payment ends August 3
Registration for DASA (UG) and CSAB Special Counselling 2026 is now underway, offering eligible candidates another opportunity to secure admission to participating technical institutes. The counselling schedule includes mock seat allocation, choice locking, and Round 1 seat allotment in early August. Applicants, including eligible IIT-admitted candidates, must complete all required formalities within the prescribed deadlines.

DASA, CSAB Special Counselling 2026: The Ministry of Education has opened the registration window for the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) Undergraduate (UG) and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) Special Counselling 2026. Eligible candidates can now complete the registration process through the official CSAB portal. The counselling process is aimed at filling vacant seats in participating technical institutions after the completion of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) rounds.Candidates are advised to complete the registration and fee payment process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Registration and fee payment window closes on August 3

As per the official schedule, the registration and fee payment facility for DASA and CSAB Special Counselling 2026 will remain open until August 3, 2026.The counselling process will move quickly after the registration phase. The mock seat allocation, prepared on the basis of candidates’ submitted choices, will be displayed on July 30, 2026, allowing applicants to assess their probable allotment before finalising their preferences.The choice filling and choice locking window will be available on August 5, 2026, giving candidates one final opportunity to review and confirm their selected institutes and courses.

DASA and CSAB Special Round 1 allotment on August 6

The Ministry of Education has scheduled the DASA (UG) and CSAB Special Round 1 seat allotment result for August 6, 2026.Following the declaration of seat allotment, candidates allotted seats will have to submit their willingness online between August 6 and August 10, 2026. Completing this step within the prescribed period is mandatory for candidates who wish to continue in the admission process.

DASA & CSAB Special Counselling 2026: Steps to register

Candidates can complete the registration process by following these steps:

  • Go to the official CSAB website, admissions.nic.in.
  • Click on the DASA & CSAB Special Counselling 2026 registration link on the homepage.
  • Enter the required login credentials.
  • Submit the details to complete the registration process.
  • Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.
  • IIT-admitted candidates also eligible under specific conditions

Alternatively, candidates can click on the link provided here to register for the DASA and CSAB Special Counselling 2026.The Ministry has clarified that candidates who have already secured admission to IITs through the JoSAA counselling rounds are also eligible to participate in the DASA 2026 seat allocation process as fresh candidates. However, they will be required to register separately after paying the prescribed DASA Enrolment Fee (DEF).Candidates are encouraged to carefully read the counselling guidelines and adhere to every deadline, as no requests are generally entertained once the counselling schedule progresses to the next stage. With several engineering seats expected to be available through the special rounds, timely registration and informed choice filling will play a crucial role in securing admission.
