India enjoyed a memorable Day 5 at the Commonwealth Games as Sharmila Dhankar won a historic gold, Sarvesh Kushare, Valluri Ajaya Babu and Gyaneshwari Yadav claimed silver medals, while Shilpa K. Shyla and Bindyarani Devi added bronze medals. The six-medal haul took India’s overall tally to 10 and lifted the country to eighth in the standings. Medal Tally: India climbs to eighth with 10 medals

India climbed to eighth in the Commonwealth Games medal standings after a six-medal haul on Day 5, taking its overall tally to 10 medals with two gold, five silver, and three bronze.Australia continued to dominate the table with 59 medals (26 gold, 13 silver and 20 bronze), while England remained second with 32 medals. Canada occupied third place with 21 medals, followed by Nigeria (10) and Scotland (11). South Africa and Malaysia were tied on 11 medals each, with India close behind on 10. Jamaica rounded off the top nine with two gold medals, while New Zealand completed the top 10 with eight medals.
