TNPSC announces 839 Diploma and ITI vacancies, including posts in Rural Development Department

TNPSC CTS 2026 notification: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has issued the Combined Technical Services (CTS) Examination (Diploma/ITI Level) 2026 notification, announcing recruitment for 839 vacancies across 56 technical posts in various state government departments. The online application process will commence on July 17 and continue until August 15.The recruitment drive includes vacancies in departments such as Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Agriculture, Public Works, Highways and Employment and Training. The written examination is tentatively scheduled to be held on September 20, 2026.Rural Development Department has major share of vacanciesAmong the advertised posts, the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department has a significant number of vacancies. The commission has notified 149 vacancies for the post of Road Inspector and 129 vacancies for Overseer or Junior Draughting Officer in the department.Other major posts include 119 vacancies for Junior Training Officer in the Employment and Training Department, 110 vacancies for Assistant Agricultural Officer in the Agriculture Department and 101 vacancies for Junior Draughting Officer under the Water Resources wing of the Public Works Department.Eligibility and selection processCandidates applying for the recruitment must possess the prescribed Diploma, Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate, National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant engineering or technical discipline, depending on the post.The selection process will consist of a written examination followed by document verification. TNPSC has stated that there will be no interview for these Diploma and ITI-level technical posts.Application scheduleAccording to the notification, the recruitment process began with the publication of the notification on July 7. The online application window will open on July 17 and close at 11.59 pm on August 15.Eligible candidates will be required to submit their applications through the TNPSC online examination portal after the registration link becomes active. Candidates are advised to verify the educational qualifications, eligibility conditions and post-specific requirements mentioned in the official notification before submitting their application forms.The commission will conduct the written examination on September 20, subject to the published examination schedule.
