Maharashtra CET begins registration for agriculture, biotechnology admissions 2026; apply by July 25

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has started the registration process for admission to agriculture, agricultural engineering and biotechnology programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website, cetcell.mahacet.org, till July 25, 2026.The admission process is open for several undergraduate programmes, including Bachelor of Science (Honours) Agriculture, Bachelor of Science (Honours) Horticulture, Bachelor of Science (Honours) Forestry, Bachelor of Fisheries Science (BFSc), Agricultural Biotechnology, Agricultural Business Management, and other agriculture-related courses.The CET Cell has also invited applications for Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programmes in Agricultural Engineering and Food Technology.According to the official notification, these four-year professional degree programmes are offered under nine faculties across four agricultural universities in Maharashtra. A total of 17,586 seats are available for first-year admissions in 195 agricultural colleges across the state.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must upload all the required documents and certificates while submitting the online application form.For admissions to Agricultural Engineering, the prescribed entrance examination criteria will apply. For all other agriculture degree programmes, candidates can seek admission based on their scores in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET), Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) or the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), depending on the eligibility requirements for the respective course.However, the CET Cell noted that the NEET 2026 results have not been declared yet. To ensure that the admission process begins on time, the authority has released only the provisional admission schedule for now.

The CET Cell said that the detailed schedule for the remaining admission process, including:

  • Interim merit list
  • Online grievance submission
  • Final merit list
  • Seat matrix
  • Admission allotment rounds
  • Centralised admission rounds
  • College-level admission rounds
  • Institution-level admissions

will be announced after the declaration of the NEET 2026 results.Candidates are advised to complete their registration before the deadline and regularly check the official website for further updates regarding the admission process.
