PUNE: Satish Misal Educational Foundation’s (SMEF) Brick Group of Institutes will host the eighth edition of its flagship annual event, ‘Brick 12 on 12’, on July 17 and 18 at the SARTHI Auditorium, Shivajinagar, bringing together students, alumni, architects, designers, and academicians on a common platform to celebrate innovation and excellence in architecture and design education.The two-day event will open on July 17 with academic presentations by students from 3:30 pm to 8 pm, followed by the Brick Annual Exhibition, showcasing academic projects and design explorations. On July 18, the programme will feature presentations by distinguished alumni, panel discussions on contemporary design practice, and a keynote address by noted architect Ar. Ajay Sonar, Co-founder of A for Architecture, an internationally recognised designer and educator. An exhibition of students’ works will remain open to visitors on both days.

Dr. Raosaheb Latpate, Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, Savitribai Phule Pune University, will be the Guest of Honour on the opening day, while Ar. Rajeev Vishwasrao, Founder of Rajeev Vishwasrao & Associates and a leading name in institutional architecture, will inaugurate the annual exhibition. Organisers said the event aims to provide aspiring architects, students, parents and industry professionals with first-hand exposure to design education and its growing relevance to the construction and built-environment sectors.
