Delhi University signs MoU with Home Ministry’s I4C

The University of Delhi (DU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs to expand collaboration on cyber safety, awareness and capacity building. The agreement was signed on Monday at the Council Room of the Vice Regal Lodge on the Delhi University campus by DU Registrar Dr Vikas Gupta and I4C Director Nishant Kumar.

Focus on cyber awareness

The partnership aims to build a stronger cyber safety ecosystem within the university through awareness campaigns, workshops, seminars and student engagement programmes. The two institutions will also work together on hackathons, competitions, internships, cyber volunteer initiatives and academic activities related to cybersecurity. The collaboration will promote University Grants Commission (UGC) notified cyber security courses and encourage knowledge sharing between the government and academia.

Capacity building for students

University officials said the partnership is intended to improve students’ understanding of cybercrime prevention and cyber hygiene while creating opportunities to participate in research and practical training. The collaboration was facilitated under the initiative of Prof. Sanjeev Singh. The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. K. Ratnabali and senior officials from both DU and I4C.The agreement comes at a time when universities are increasingly expanding cybersecurity education beyond classrooms through industry and government partnerships.
