BPSC 72nd Combined Preliminary exam 2026 on July 26; Commission announces schedule
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced that the Integrated 72nd Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination will be conducted on July 26, 2026, from 12 pm to 2 pm across various districts in Bihar. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially announced the date for the Integrated 72nd Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination 2026. The examination for recruitment will be conducted on July 26, 2026.It is as per the official notice released by the Commission that the preliminary examination will be held in one sitting between 12:00 to 2:00 pm on various examination centers situated in different districts of Bihar. Candidates are eagerly waiting for the admission cards and instructions related to the examination, which is likely to be released soon by the Commission.The schedule of the examination has been declared by an official notice released by Controller of Examinations, BPSC, Patna.While the Commission has confirmed the examination date and timing, it is yet to release district-wise examination centres, reporting instructions, and hall tickets. These details are expected to be made available in the coming days.

Admit cards and examination details expected soon

With less than three weeks remaining for the examination, the Commission is expected to activate the admit card download link shortly. The hall ticket will carry key information, including the candidate’s examination centre, reporting time, roll number, and instructions to be followed on the examination day.Applicants should carefully verify all details mentioned on the admit card once it is released and report any discrepancies to the Commission immediately.

BPSC’s biggest recruitment drive sets the backdrop

The announcement of the 72nd Combined Preliminary Examination comes shortly after BPSC concluded its largest-ever Combined Competitive Examination recruitment process.On June 19, the Commission declared the final results of the 70th Combined Competitive Examination, recommending a record 2,027 candidates for appointment across various state government services. It marked the highest number of selections made by the Commission in any of its state services examinations since Independence.The merit list was topped by Shraddha Pandey of Uttar Pradesh, while Shashank Pandey and Aksh Vijoy secured the second and third positions, respectively. Four women featured among the top ten rank holders, and women accounted for 45 candidates in the top 100 merit list.

Record participation in the previous recruitment cycle

The 70th BPSC recruitment witnessed significant participation from aspirants across the state. Nearly 4.83 lakh candidates had submitted online applications for the examination.The preliminary examination was conducted on December 13, 2024, at 911 centres across 37 districts. However, following reports of irregularities at the Bapu Examination Complex in Patna, the examination at that centre was cancelled and conducted again on January 4, 2025, at 22 centres in the city. Overall, 3,28,990 candidates appeared for the preliminary examination.The Commission had notified 2,027 vacancies, including 2,009 posts across 27 state government departments, 12 Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) posts, and six Financial Administrative Officer positions.

Aspirants who will be sitting for the BPSC Integrated 72nd Combined Preliminary Examination 2026 need to prepare their registration details and check the official website of the Commission for any admission card and notice for the examinations.The candidates are now in the final stages of their preparations as the most prominent recruiting agency in Bihar is getting ready for another civil service examination in the state.
