AIBE XXI final answer key expected today as BCI prepares official release

NEW DELHI: The Bar Council of India (BCI) is expected to release the final answer key for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XXI shortly. Candidates who appeared for the national-level certification examination will be able to download the final answer key from the official AIBE portal once it is published. The release follows the review of objections submitted against the provisional answer key.The final answer key will determine the scores used for the declaration of the AIBE XXI result. After its publication, no further objections or challenges to the answer key will be accepted. The result is expected to be announced in mid-July 2026.Over 1.48 lakh candidates registeredThe AIBE is conducted to assess whether law graduates meet the minimum standard required to practise law in India. Clearing the examination is mandatory for obtaining the Certificate of Practice (COP), which is issued by the Bar Council of India and authorises advocates to practise before courts across the country.According to registration data, more than 1.48 lakh law graduates registered for AIBE XXI. The examination was conducted at multiple test centres across India.Qualifying marks for different categoriesThe final answer key will be the basis for evaluating candidates’ performance and preparing the final result. Candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories are required to obtain at least 45 per cent marks to qualify for the examination.Candidates from the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Disabled categories must secure a minimum of 40 per cent marks to qualify. Those meeting the prescribed qualifying marks will become eligible to receive the Certificate of Practice from the BCI.How to download the final answer keyCandidates can access the final answer key by visiting the official AIBE website and selecting the notification for the AIBE XXI final answer key on the homepage. The answer key PDF will contain the official responses for all question paper sets, including Sets A, B, C and D.After downloading the document, candidates can compare their recorded responses with the official answers to estimate their final scores before the result is announced. They are advised to save a copy of the answer key PDF for future reference during the result process.
