TNEA counselling 2026: Round 1 provisional allotment out for upward movement; round 2 choice filling begins

The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu has released the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 round 1 provisional allotment result for candidates who opted for upward movement. Candidates can check and download their provisional allotment order by logging in to the official TNEA counselling portal.Along with the allotment result, the counselling authority has also started the round 2 choice filling process. Eligible candidates can add, change or rearrange their college and course preferences from August 3 to August 8, 2026.Candidates who have received a provisional seat allotment in round 1 should download their allotment order and check the details carefully. Those who are eligible for round 2 must complete the choice filling process before the deadline to be considered for the next round of seat allotment.

TNEA counselling 2026 round 2 schedule

As per the counselling schedule, round 2 is being held for candidates with aggregate marks between 171 and 135.75 and general ranks from 37,977 to 1,31,093.The tentative seat allotment for round 2 will be announced on August 8 at 10 am. Candidates will be able to confirm their tentative allotment between August 7 and August 8, from 10 am to 5 pm.The provisional allotment for candidates who accept the allotted seat or choose the upward movement option will be published on August 9 at 10 am.Candidates who receive seats in round 2 will have to report to their allotted colleges between August 9 and August 13, 2026, from 10 am to 5 pm.

How to download round 1 provisional allotment

Candidates can follow these steps to download their allotment order:

  • Visit the official TNEA counselling website.
  • Log in using your registered email ID and password.
  • Click on the Round 1 Provisional Allotment link.
  • Check your allotted college and course details.
  • Download and save the allotment order for future reference.

How to complete round 2 choice filling

Candidates can follow these steps to submit their preferences:

  • Log in to the TNEA candidate portal.
  • Open the Round 2 Choice Filling section.
  • Add, edit or rearrange your preferred colleges and courses.
  • Save and lock your choices before 5 pm on August 8.
  • Download or keep a copy of the submitted choices for future reference.

Candidates are advised to complete the choice filling process before the deadline and keep checking the official TNEA counselling website for the latest updates on the admission process.
