Indian team recreate Sourav Ganguly's shirt-waving celebration after beating England at Lord's - Watch

Sourav Ganguly’s shirt-waving celebration at Lord’s in 2002 has been recreated 24 years later, this time by India’s Mixed Disability cricket team. After India defeated England by 118 runs in a T20 match at Lord’s on August 19, India’s players took off their shirts and waved them in the air, recalling Ganguly’s famous celebration after India’s NatWest Trophy final win over England at the same venue in 2002.The celebration came after India put up 206 for four, their highest score of the seven-match series. England were then bowled out for 88 as India completed a 118-run win at the Festival of Disability Cricket. The victory, however, came after England had already secured the series 4-3.India’s batting effort was shared among several players, with Arjun Gaware, Major Magray and Sai Akash among those who contributed with the bat.England’s bowlers struggled to contain India’s scoring. Alfie Pyle took two wickets, but the visitors’ total proved too much for England to chase.England needed a strong response to record their first win at Lord’s, but their innings ended at 88.England captain Callum Flynn said: “It’s such a disappointing end for us, we’ve fought so hard this series and done so much right and I felt it was all leading to a sign-off win here, but it wasn’t to be.”While England took the seven-match series 4-3, their wait for a win at Lord’s continues after India’s victory at the venue.“Hopefully in a year’s time we’ll get a chance to get our first win at Lord’s. As cricketers with disabilities, some of us might have imagined we’d never get the chance to play here – the next step now is getting a win here,” Flynn said.
