BWF World Championships 2026 Live Updates: PV Sindhu, Ayush Shetty, Satwik-Chirag lead India’s day 4 charge

After a mixed Day 3 for India, attention now turns to a crucial Day 4 at the BWF World Championships 2026 in New Delhi. Several Indian players and pairs will be in action on Thursday, with Ayush Shetty and PV Sindhu among the biggest names taking the court.

Ayush Shetty enters the men’s singles Round of 16 after an impressive straight-game victory over Sri Lanka’s Dumindu Abeywickrama. He will face Indonesia’s Alwi Farhan in what promises to be another important test for the young Indian.

PV Sindhu will also be aiming to continue her campaign when she takes on China’s third seed Wang Zhi Yi. Sindhu booked her place in the last 16 with a straight-game win over Canada’s Wen Yu Zhang and will now face a tougher challenge. In women’s doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand Pullela will face Japan’s Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi. India’s mixed doubles pair Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto will also return to action after their opening win, taking on China’s Guo Xin Wa and Chen Fang Hui. Men’s doubles will see fifth seeds Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty face Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Yap Roy King. The Indian pair advanced to the Round of 16 through a walkover on Day 3.
