BWF World Championships 2026: Who are the Indian players competing in New Delhi?

The BWF World Championships 2026 is set to be a landmark event for Indian badminton, with New Delhi preparing to welcome the sport’s biggest stars from August 17 to 23. India will be represented in all five disciplines, giving home fans plenty to look forward to at the Indira Gandhi Arena.The tournament marks the 30th edition of the BWF World Championships and returns to India after a 17-year gap. Hyderabad last hosted the prestigious competition in 2009.

BWF World Championships 2026: Full Schedule

The competition begins on August 17, with the opening rounds in singles and doubles. The Round of 32 follows on August 19, before the tournament moves into its knockout stages.

  • August 17: Round of 64 in men’s and women’s singles; Round of 48 in all doubles events
  • August 18: Remaining singles Round of 64 and further doubles matches
  • August 19: Round of 32 across all five disciplines
  • August 20: Round of 16
  • August 21: Quarter-finals
  • August 22: Semi-finals
  • August 23: Finals

With every discipline culminating on the same final day, the week promises a packed schedule of elite badminton. For India, hosting the championships provides an opportunity to combine home support with medal ambitions across singles and doubles.
