Maharashtra LLB admissions 2026: CAP Round-I option form deadline extended amid new college additions

Maharashtra LLB CAP Round-I 2026: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has extended the deadline for candidates to fill and submit the Option Form for CAP Round-I for the three-year and five-year LLB courses for the 2026-27 academic year. The revised deadline is August 11, 2026, instead of the earlier deadline of August 9, 2026.The extension has been announced as several law colleges are still obtaining approval from the Bar Council of India (BCI) and affiliation from the concerned universities. Colleges receiving the required approvals are being added to the list of institutions available to candidates while they exercise their preferences for CAP Round-I.More colleges added to the admission poolAccording to the Maharashtra CET Cell notice, candidates will get additional choices because the process of statutory approvals and university affiliation is continuing. The authority has advised applicants to complete the Option Form process within the revised deadline.For the three-year LLB course, 146 colleges are currently available for selection. There were 93 colleges listed as of August 5, 2026. Since then, 53 colleges have been added to the admission pool.The number of colleges available for the five-year LLB course has also increased. There are currently 101 colleges available, compared with 56 on August 5, 2026. A further 45 colleges have been added since that date.

Option Form deadline extended for CAP Round-IAcross the two LLB courses, 98 colleges have been added, taking the current total number of colleges available for admission to 247. The CET Cell has stated that more law colleges may be added to the list as they receive the necessary approvals and affiliations.Candidates participating in CAP Round-I have been advised to check the updated list of approved colleges on the Maharashtra CET Cell website before finalising their preferences.
