Zimbabwe announce T20I squad for India series, Tafadzwa Tsiga earns maiden call-up

Zimbabwe have named a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India, with uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga earning his first call-up in the format. All-rounder Wessly Madhevere and fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri have also returned to the squad, replacing Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa and Tashinga Musekiwa. The matches will be played in Harare on July 23, 25 and 26. Tsiga, who has already played 10 Tests for Zimbabwe, is in line to make his white-ball international debut. Madhevere returns to the T20I side for the first time since July 2025 after featuring regularly in Tests and ODIs against Bangladesh. Nyamhuri is back after recovering from an injury that ruled him out of part of the Bangladesh ODI series, while Tanaka Chivanga has retained his place after impressing as his replacement.Sikandar Raza will continue to captain Zimbabwe after leading the team to a memorable run against Bangladesh, where they won the one-off Test by an innings and claimed the ODI series 2-1 before losing the T20I series 2-1.Zimbabwe now face a much tougher challenge against reigning T20 World Cup champions India. Although India enter the series after recent defeats in Ireland and England, they remain one of the strongest teams in the format. The two sides last met in the T20 World Cup Super Eight stage, where India defeated Zimbabwe by 72 runs after Zimbabwe had earlier stunned Australia to reach the second round.Zimbabwe squad: Sikandar Raza (captain), Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Tanaka Chivanga, Ben Curran, Brad Evans, Wessly Madhevere, Tadiwanashe Marumani (wk), Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Milton Shumba, Tafadzwa Tsiga (wk).
