Star batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have another milestone in sight as India begin the three-match ODI series against England on Tuesday. While both veterans remain key to India’s hopes after disappointing T20I series defeats to Ireland and England, they are also closing in on becoming India’s highest run-scorer in ODIs on English soil.Rahul Dravid currently tops the list with 648 runs in 20 ODIs in England. Kohli is second among active players with 581 runs, while Rohit has 410 runs.

How much runs Kohli and Rohit need?

  • Virat Kohli needs 68 runs to go past Dravid’s tally of 648.
  • Rohit Sharma needs 239 runs to move ahead of Dravid.

With a three-match series ahead, Kohli has a realistic chance of taking the top spot, while Rohit would need a remarkable series to achieve the feat.Dravid scored 648 runs in 20 ODIs in England between 1996 and 2011 at an average of 38.11, including seven half-centuries. Although he never scored a hundred in England.Sachin Tendulkar sits second with 639 runs from 17 matches at 39.93, including one century and four fifties.

The former India captain averaged 35.31 and scored five half-centuries, with a highest score of 90.Yuvraj Singh is next with 498 runs from 14 matches at an impressive average of 41.50. The left-hander registered four fifties, with 72 being his highest score in England.
