India Women 212/3 in 55.0 Overs

INDIA WOMEN VS ENGLAND WOMEN LIVE: India Women will resume Day 3 of the historic one-off Test at Lord’s in complete control, holding a commanding 269-run lead with nine wickets in hand after a dominant display across the opening two days. Having outplayed England with both bat and ball, Harmanpreet Kaur’s side is now within touching distance of scripting a memorable victory at the Home of Cricket.

After posting 285 in their first innings, India bundled England out for just 170 to secure a 115-run lead before extending their advantage to 269 runs by stumps on Day 2. Smriti Mandhana remained unbeaten on 69, while Yastika Bhatia provided solid support with an unbeaten 39 as India reached 154/1 in their second innings.

India likely to push for declaration

India’s biggest priority on Day 3 will be to build an unassailable lead before declaring. With Mandhana well set and Yastika looking comfortable at the crease, the visitors have the ideal platform to accelerate in the morning session.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh and the lower middle order are still to bat, giving India the luxury of increasing the lead well beyond the 400-run mark. A target in excess of 450 would leave England with little realistic chance of chasing and shift their focus purely towards survival.

Given the flattening pitch, India are expected to balance quick scoring with ensuring they have enough time to bowl England out twice before the Test concludes.

Mandhana eyes another landmark knock

Smriti Mandhana has once again led from the front with a composed unbeaten half-century after scoring 83 in the first innings. The left-hander has looked in complete control throughout the match and will be eyeing a century on Day 3.

Her partnership with Yastika Bhatia has already frustrated England’s bowlers, and another substantial stand could completely shut the hosts out of the contest.

Kranti Gaud emerges as India’s new pace sensation

If India’s batting laid the platform, debutant Kranti Gaud delivered the defining performance with the ball.

The young seamer produced a sensational spell to claim 5/37, dismantling England’s batting lineup and ensuring India seized complete control of the Test. Her disciplined lines, movement off the surface and ability to strike with the new ball have made her India’s biggest weapon heading into England’s second innings.

Should India set a massive target, Gaud will once again be entrusted with providing early breakthroughs.

England searching for inspiration

England face an uphill battle after managing just 170 in their first innings. Apart from Amy Jones’ fighting half-century, the hosts failed to build meaningful partnerships against a relentless Indian attack.

Their bowlers also struggled to make inroads after dismissing Shafali Verma early in India’s second innings. Sophie Ecclestone, who picked up three wickets in the first innings, will once again shoulder the responsibility of leading England’s bowling attack and attempting to spark an unlikely collapse.

The hosts know that allowing India’s lead to stretch beyond 400 could effectively end their hopes of avoiding defeat.

While Lord’s has become increasingly batting-friendly, signs of wear are beginning to emerge. As the match progresses into the fourth innings, India’s experienced spin duo of Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana could become decisive factors.

With the surface expected to offer more turn and variable bounce later in the game, India’s bowlers will back themselves to exploit the conditions and complete a memorable overseas Test victory.

Day 3 promises defining session

The opening session on Day 3 could determine the course of the match. If India bat positively and declare with a daunting lead, England will face the enormous challenge of surviving against a confident Indian bowling attack on a wearing Lord’s surface.
