India vs England 5th T20I Live Score: Shreyas Iyer eyes consolation win as India take on England in series finale

India vs England 5th T20I live score: India will be hoping to salvage some pride when they take on England in the fifth and final T20I of the series at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Saturday. With England already holding an unassailable 3-0 lead after the first match was washed out, the visitors will be eager to avoid a series whitewash and end the tour with a victory.

India’s biggest concern throughout the series has been their inconsistent batting. The visitors have repeatedly failed to build solid starts, putting pressure on the middle order. In the fourth T20I in Bristol, captain Shreyas Iyer produced a fighting unbeaten 80 to help India post 158/7 after another shaky beginning. Despite his efforts, the target was never enough as England’s batters dominated the chase.

Harry Brook and Phil Salt were unstoppable, sharing an unbeaten 151-run partnership that powered England to a comprehensive nine-wicket victory with 37 balls to spare. England have consistently outplayed India in all departments, combining aggressive batting with disciplined bowling to maintain complete control of the series.

Historically, the rivalry has been closely contested. India and England have met 34 times in T20 internationals, with India leading the head-to-head record with 18 wins compared to England’s 15, while one game ended without a result. Their first meeting came in the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, where India emerged victorious. However, England have held the upper hand in the ongoing series, winning the latest encounter on July 9 to seal the contest.

Squads:

India Squad: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan(w), Shreyas Iyer(c), Shivam Dube, Tilak Varma, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Prince Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Sanju Samson, Ravi Bishnoi, Suryansh Shedge
